Why my wife is handling my money — Davido

 


Top Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, who is popularly known as Davido, has revealed why his wife, Chioma Adeleke, is in charge of managing his finances, describing her as the person who keeps his life really organised because of his usual reckless spending habit.


The "Assurance" crooner made the disclosure in a video that went viral on Wednesday, that shows him calling Chioma after he was unable to access his account while attempting to send money to Lati, his personal assistant.


While on the the call, Davido asked his wife to transfer $4,000 to his aide on his behalf.


“Hello, hello baby, good morning my wife, my love. Help me send Lati $4,000. I can’t login, I don’t know why, it's the service here. Alright. We’re taking off now to Naija, I love you,” he said during the call.


After the call, Davreltv his official streamer, asked if Chioma had taken over the responsibility of managing his finances, which then prompted the singer to explain that the arrangement was necessary because of his spending habits.


“So your wife has been managing the money?” the streamer asked.


“Of course, you know I’m a reckless spender. Na she dey arrange everything. Na my life coordinator be that,” the singer replied.


The revelation comes shortly after Davido disclosed that he spends between $200,000 and $300,000 every month to maintain his lifestyle.


Davido explained that the amount covers only his personal expenses and does not include spending on his wife or other members of his household.


“I spend between $200,000 and $300,000 every month, and that doesn’t even include my wife’s expenses or the rest of my household,” he said.


He further noted that the monthly estimate also excludes major luxury purchases, including expensive cars and jewellery.


“It also doesn’t include expenses for the purchase of luxury cars and jewellery,” he added.
